The Blessed Madonna Shares First New Song in 5 Years: Listen

Blessed Madonna shared a new song called “Serotonin Moonbeams”. It is Marea Stamper’s first original material in five years and her first single for brand new home Warner. Check out the track, which features Uffie, below.

In a press release, Stamper shared a statement about the song:

We talked about what it was like to fall in love at Vicks VapoRub, the candy-packed rave of the ’90s. It’s about “cuddling pools” and the powerful emotional, physical, and spiritual bonds that can form when serotonergic conditions are right. The barriers that might exist in a normal dating atmosphere evaporate and strangers can become intimate and likable characters in an instant. I’ve had an incredible response since I first tested it in Brazil on tour. It was written one day when I was running from the production console to the couch to crack words with Ovi and Jin. I remember being so embarrassed suggesting, “I bet I hit you with that nasty bitch, Thunder Lightning, yeah so scary!” But when I did, they screamed and we knew we were on the verge of something.

Since the release of “It’s The Sound I Hear” in 2017, Stamper has been devoted to a Grand Theft Auto Online Expansion and remixed material from Robyn and the Jungle and Florence and the Machine, as well as an appearance on Fred Again.. “Marea (We Lost the Dance).” In 2020, she collaborated with Dua Lipa for a Nostalgia for the future Remix album guest featured by Missy Elliott, Mark Ronson, Yaeji, and more. Stamper modified its DJ name from Black Madonna in the summer of 2020, citing the need to recalibrate following many years of “controversy, confusion, pain and frustration” surrounding its name.
